Lite Beer Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 DSI to consider accepting a former aide of Phra Dhammachayo into witness protection programme BANGKOK: -- The Department of Special Investigation is to consider whether to accept Dr Mano Laohavanich, a former close aide of Wat Dhammakaya’s abbot, Phra Dhammachayo, into witness protection programme. Dr Mano asked for protection claiming that he had received several threats after he talked to the media exposing some personal information about Phra Dhammachayo. The DSI on Friday decided to appoint five advisors who will help the team responsible for investigating the embezzlement case at Klongchan Credit Union Cooperative. The five advisors are Mr SurasakTreerat, Mr Kittinan Tatpramook, Mr Kachornsak Putthanuparb, Mr Noppadon Uthen and Pol Maj-Gen Chanachai Limprasert.Pol Lt-Col Somboon Sarasit, chief of the special criminal cases of the DSI, said that he was confident that most of the 16 billion baht embezzled from the cooperative by its former chairman, Mr Supachai Srisupa-aksorn, would be retrieved. Anthony5 Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Why they don't put up some huge billboards that Dr Mano is going to spill the beans on Dammachayo, would save them some money in witness protection.
dickyknee Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Does "witness protection" mean anything in this country? 2
bangkokfrog Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Why they don't put up some huge billboards that Dr Mano is going to spill the beans on Dammachayo, would save them some money in witness protection. Agreed.. why don't they just give him a T-shirt with a target on it! Where else in the world do the police advertise that someone 'might' qualify for witness protection. I hope we don't read about him being 'disappeared' in the near future. 1
thequietman Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Naming the advisers for the case, Mr SurasakTreerat, Mr Kittinan Tatpramook, Mr Kachornsak Putthanuparb, Mr Noppadon Uthen and Pol Maj-Gen Chanachai Limprasert is another great piece of work.If the key people involved in this wish to intimidate or buy these people, they have thenames.Talk about marking the targets. 1
seajae Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 again we see the mentality of the thai press by advertising who to try to bribe and who to have silenced. Its bad enough that the police give out this info to the press but for the press to then make sure everyone involved is out in the open for targeting is a joke. It would appear no-one in charge has any brains, either the police or the press and they wonder why their charges dont stick or are never acted on.
AleG Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 The people doing the customary Thai bashing need to think things through a little harder. Dr Mano Laohavanich has been critical of the sect and it's leader is no secret, so there's no point in hiding his identity, now however, there is an apparent need to provide security for him. Or do you actually think that only unnamed people are entitled to be part of a witness protection program? That's the whole effin' point of it, they need the protection because they are known to the people that may cause them harm.
MaiChai Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Sounds like this Buddhist sect needs thoroughly investigating. Does not sound very Buddhist to me. 1
NeilSA1 Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Until recently I never knew who Dr Mano was and certainly did not know what he looked like. Now I know from the photos, yesterday and today. He has a reasonably unique look / features. Hope all goes well...
Robby nz Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Dr Mano has a right to be worried he was very close to the top of this temple hierarchy and left in disgust when he saw what they were turning into, he has inside information which will be very damaging to this multi billion dollar organization. Shots have already been fired at the home of Buddha Issara who condemned the abbot and his temple, so they have the means to kill if they wish to use it. They have shown by their refusal to return stolen money they care for no one but themselves. And they certainly have a lot to defend.
klauskunkel Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 ignorant <delete>, clueless, a danger to the public, corrupt, unthinking, there's a spotlight...quick say something - anything - that can endanger everything - as long as the spotlight is on me! officials, media, they all need to be <deleted>
khaowong1 Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Well sure, lets put his name, photo, address out there.
ALLSEEINGEYE Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 witness protection you say? Maybe that's what happened to all of the activists that have disappeared over the last couple decades?
jaywalker Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 What a joke. They should at least call it the program instead or a programme.........Fewer chances of misspelling........ TBS could sure use a few starving English teachers to proofread their crap. This article isn't as bad as most, but good grief... On the subject matter.... Here's a High Definition (HD) picture of the guy! He's going into hiding!!!!! Idiots. He'll go to LA, London or Sydney. I should take up this contract (joking). It won't be that hard to find this bald-headed clown.

You don't think there's people on this very forum who wish to see harm come to her? Granted she's not exposing or whistleblowing but that's not the only reason for the WPP ?
