Changing Non-B to Retirement?

Looks like my work permit may be cancelled due to changing circumstances. All is amiable.

Can I change my Non-B extension based on the work permit to a retirement visa without leaving Thailand?

I've had 800K in the bank for as long as needed.

Whether you will be able to change the reason for your extension of stay from working to retirement will depend upon which immigration office you have to use. Some will no longer do it.

If not you would need to leave the country to get a single entry non-o visa based upon being 50 or over for retirement.

Bangkok is one that has been reported as not doing it.

You could go in and try or contact them.

I had a friend who left his job on a non-imm B/WP, then went in and did a conversion of the non-imm B to a visa based on marriage to a Thai. That was in BKK about a month ago, but maybe converting to marriage is different from converting to non-imm O retirement?

It is not possible to convert one non immigrant visa class to another. Only a change of the reason for an extension of stay can be done at some offices.

Perhaps CW has changed policies or perhaps he actually had a 90 day non-b visa entry and applied for an extension of stay based upon marriage to extend that entry.
