Popular Post MisterTee
Nothing. From my point of view, Northern Thailand is a good place to live. The problems here I can deal with. What I dislike most about the USA is the number of petty rules and regulations that are enforced with zero-tolerance. As a kid growing up in semi-rural New York State, we would often ride in the back of pickup trucks. Then things changed and it became illegal. Then things changed again and I came to Thailand. I hope I don't see any more changes. Edited March 17, 2015 by MisterTee
bannork
Going back to England in April for 2 weeks for the first time in 13 years, miss family and friends a bit, but for lifestyle nothing really except...... skyping mother- Mother (83 but still on her feet), 'You'll be alright, you can buy Thai food from the supermarkets or the restaurants' 'No! Mother, I love Thai food but I haven't eaten a Yorkshire pudding for 13 years, some beef with gravy, horse radish, shepherds pie, fish and chips' ...to taste once more would, or hopefully will, be so nice..please some home cooking.... peterb17
There is no reason not to make your own mustard pickle- takes time vegetable soaking in brine etc I would suggest buying English mustard powder ( Colmans ) the local one does not quite taste the same. Lots of recipes on the net. Corned beef you can buy here Then you can sit down, a nice loaf, your homemade pickle , corned beef and maybe some cheese- and treat yourself to some Bitter. Bliss!

Max in Udon
Maybe the one thing I miss about England, is being able to buy cod and chips in the paper, any evening I felt like it. BUT..............big surprise.............an Aussie called Harry has just opened up a Western style fish and chip shop in Udon. Cod or Haddock and chips, mushy peas, curry sauce, and all the other bits that a good fish and chip shop should sell. BLISS

Popular Post Daniel Ingalls
What do I miss in the United States that I can't find here in Thailand? The freedom of Speech to say as I please, with out feer of being thrown in Jail on trumped up charges. The right to free Assembly. The right to a speedy trial by a Jury of my peers. My Armada Rights. The right to own property. Freedom of the press. A decent Pizza made from scratch. Taco Bell. Clean streets litter free. People who can drive a car , and stay in their own lanes. Freedom from martial law. Standard sizes plumbing, good water hoes, and fixtures. Cheese at a reasonable price. Beef at a reasonable price. Potato chips un- vacuumed packed, and full. Cereal at a reasonable price. Sidewalks that is meant for walking on and smooth, free of food carts and stands. Free of beggars, and hookers. Free of stray dogs and cats! These are just a few of the things I miss. So Why do I like about being in Thailand? Cost of living cheaper here. I can save about 60,000 baht a month here, where as back in the States maybe 15,000 baht a month. I like the small Wit Del shops scattered around the countryside, a meal for 30 baht. The weather when smoke free, a bicycle ride in the country.
