Looking for advice:

About me: German, Age 37, Visa 1 year Non O on the last extension valid till 14th June 2015, Non O from Embassy Thailand Berlin/Germany based on Legal Father, Legal father approved by Family Court Bangkok and registered at the Ampoe, Yellow book Tabien Baan with same address as my child.
My Child: Thai/German Age 2 years, Thai ID and Birth certificate, German Passport and Birth certificate
My partner: She is Thai, Tabien Baan same address as my and my child. We went together to the court to confirm I'm the legal father.
My question is, how to renew this Visa in time and what are the requirements?
If possible I want to renew: 1 Year multiple entry without need to leaving the country every 3 month.
Any way to do this without showing B400.000 on an account?
Thank you for any help.

You can only get a 1 year extension of stay if you have 400,000 in the bank OR have an income of 40,000 a month (This can be from abroad).

Otherwise your only option is to get a new visa and leave the country every 90 days.

Thank you Mario for your reply ;)

"Otherwise your only option is to get a new visa and leave the country every 90 days." Where can I apply for this Visa? Do I need to go to Thai Embassy again?

You could try getting one at the Thai consulate in Savannakhet Laos.

The only successful application I have seen reported for there is when the entire family was present when the application was made to prove you are living together as a family (de facto marriage).

You probably know that you can extend any entry for 60 days at immigration, cost Bt, 1,900.

So if you get a single-entry visa, you get a new visa every 5 months, if you obtain multi-entry, border hops every 5 months, new visa every 17 months.

I'm exactly on the same condition as Jason.

Showing a bank statements that shows that money comes regularly from abroad would be enough?

Would the 1 year extension allow me to enter and exit the country as a I wish?

Thanks in advance

No. you need a statement/affidavit from your embassy to certify your income to be at least Bt 40,000 per month. Then it doesn't matter how much you bring to Thailand.

Would the 1 year extension allow me to enter and exit the country as a I wish?

Only if you also pay a multiple re-entry permit that costs Bt. 3,800.

Would be moving the 400k temporarily from another account do the trick or do they have to lay there for a while?

You will not renew anything.

You will apply for a 60 day extension of your 90 day permit to stay from the visa at Chaeng Wattana immigration if you are living in Bangkok.

You can apply for the extension a couple weeks early and loose nothing because the extension starts on the date your 90 day entry ends.

There is no need to leave the country prior to applying for the extension.

whistling.gif I would recommend Savanakhet, Laos.

As ubonjoe says , take your entire family with you, and in your case adoption papers for your adopted child.

Your Thai wife will have no problem, Thai is widely spoken in Laos, and she will have no problem communicating.

Here's a tip.

Just outside the Thai consulate is a small coffee shop which for a small fee will help you fill out the paperwork for a visa.

You have to sign and physically file the application yourself.

The reason I mention this is because the Farang who runs the shop is , if I understand it correctly, a German or possibly Austrian.

He does speak German however.

I expect he can give you a lot of good info on exactly what to do in your situation.

And Savanakhet is known for allowing you to apply for a visa without showing the need for financial proof.

Hotels are also cheaper there.

For those reasons, although there is no absolute guarantee of success,..... I would say your best bet at getting a successful marriage visa application is at Savanakhet.

The best approach is that you do a border hop on or close before the "use before" date of visa. That will allow you 90 more days in country, for a total of almost 15 months. Then in the last 30 days, apply for a 60 days extension at any immigration office, fee Bt 1,900.

Thanks IMA Farang. Good suggestion with Savanakhet! I mentioned it to my wive already. Might do together with a short holiday up there ;-)
So my last stamp is valid till 14 June, this I'll extend another 60 days at Chaengwatthana till 11th Aug. This is the date I'll have to leave at the Savanakhet border.

That, and wife should be present.
