Indian passport - visa for Thailand

Featured Replies

I am a British expat living in Malaysia and have invited an Indian friend to join me here in Malaysia for a 2 months holiday. I believe my friend will have to make a visa run after 30 days. He would like to visit Thailand.

My question is, can my friend visit Thailand on his Indian passport, by turning up at a border crossing or airport and obtain a visa on arrival? Or does he have to obtain a Tourist Visa before he sets off from India? Maybe the latter can be applied for here, but that's a question I can answer by making local enquiries.

Thanks for any assistance or advice you can provide.

I believe your friend may be eligible for a 15 day visa on arrival which will cost 1000 Bht.

Please check this information.

Take a look at the 15-day visa on arrival here: http://india.siam-legal.com/

Don't know how up-to-date this information is, but hope it helps.

Without a visa he will get a permission to stay for 15 days and must show money and a ticket out of Thailand within 15 days if going by airport.

Thanks so much for the information about VOA. It makes a nice change for something concerning India to be straight forward!
