Newcastle Brown Ale.

Castle Beer in Winnipeg.

Too many lager like beers calling themselves beer for my taste. They often look and taste like diluted p*ss.

In my younger days, Carlsberg Special was a hit.

Overall, cider has always been my favourite tipple.

Strongbow is best, yeah I know, I'm a peasant.

I know the worst, warm bottle of white lightning on a hot summers day.

The question was :

"Which country do you think produces the best tasting Beer?"

Thoughts have been expressed. I thought Germany ,others thought other countries.

If you want to know if anyone has sampled every beer in the world & what is the best sample ,knock yeself out & ask!

I'm having a Warsteiner right now, what's your tipple?

I'm just waiting for someone to say " America - Budweiser " lol

Well you beat me to it. You should have waited. My answer:

The US, of course. Budweiser is the number one selling beer in the world. That makes it the best by US standards. Nobody can dispute it.

I did go through a period of drinking it once just like carling, fosters, Heineken, Stella etc but there are some great beers out there and I'm still on the quest to find the best of the best

Germany - nowhere else in the world you have a greater choice of beer....

the OP's question is the equivalent of "in which country is a piece of string longer?"

and choice does not mean quality. moreover, it depends on an individual's taste which brand he/she might consider "best".

i drank excellent beers in Nigeria, Botswana and South Africa.

Real beers or pilsner types?

please define "real beer".

By the way, where did you go to school?

Firstly the plural of Godzilla is not godzilllions, and secondly, flies and Godzilla are not even related

If you are going to post in this forum, you better get your facts right

Firstly to me budweiser (US version) is not really a beer. It's made with rice!

Best beers are generally Czech, German and Belgian, Also great are some British and Irish.

I hate flavored Micro brew things.

Many countries produce a couple good beers.

To argue that bud must be best, based on sales is not correct. Not always the best selling is qualitatively the best product. Sales are determined by many factors besides quality, like price, availability etc. To stay with beverages, what is the best wine, whiskey or Cognac? Certainly not the ones that sell most.

Again question was which country. My vote goes to Germany for high density of great beers and the purity law.

It is a point of discussion, is Cider a beer or a wine?

This is the best one.

The purity law (Reinheitsgebot) was repealed in 1987.

the Reinheitsgebot was always a farce especially during the last century.

reason: to treat the brew-water up to a dozen chemicals can be used without disclosure. moreover, the Reinheitsgebot of the 15th century did not mention yeast which is used in every brewery.

The purity law (Reinheitsgebot) was repealed in 1987.
It was replaced by a beer Gesetz in 1993, wich is a result of European intervention and allows for more ingredients. Anyway, reputable German brewers still advertise following the old purity law.

Rice has nothing to do in beer, is however used in Bud and I believe Corona etc. Just my opinion.

According to beer expert Bryce Eddings "Most of the beer sold in the world is made with rice or corn making up a healthy portion of the grain bill."

I don't know if it's just me but Chang beer seems to be like a headache in a can. Every time I drink it a migraine starts coming on.

Classic does that for me, but Chang Draught doesn't. Export is OK......
