THB - INR help

Featured Replies

Hey Guys,

I am going to India for a vacation next week and a bit unsure how I go about getting INR. From what I read some people say INR is a closed currecny so only available in India? IS this true?

Will my Kbank Debit Card be OK to buy INR in India?

Any help much appreciated,

Cheers

I'd take cash, they do technically do cash advances and you can draw from ATM's there but a lot of the ATM's vary as to what card you can use etc. This said, it depends are where you're going - Goa and the big cities you can use Visa to withdrawal but on the whole its still a very cash based society

I'd agree with the previous poster, I've always found cash to be best in India, unless your going to be in a city.

As your question isn't visa related, I'll move it to a more appropriate forum.

A lot depends on how much you're going to change.

The rate at the DEL was about 58 to the US$ two weeks ago, not good, but if your ATM is going to rape you it's not that bad.
