webfact
THAI continues to operates normal scheduled flights to JapanBANGKOK, Thailand – Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) continues to operate regular commercial flights to destinations in Japan, as there is no impact from the Japan Civil Aviation Bureau’s (JCAB) announcement prohibiting Thailand’s chartered flights entering Japan.Mr. Charamporn Jotikasthira, THAI President, said that as a result from ICAO’s Universal Safety Oversight Audit Program (USOAP), the Japan Civil Aviation Bureau (JCAB) recently announced that Thailand’s chartered flights were not permitted to enter Japan. This action however, does not impact regular commercial flights to Japan, and all THAI regular commercial flights continue to operate as scheduled according to the previously approved 2015 Summer Traffic Program (TPI); though, the prohibition impacts two of THAI”s chartered flights – to Komatsu and to Hiroshima, during 11 and 15 April 2015.Source: http://www.eturbonews.com/node/57113-- eTN 2015-03-
Snig27
Let's not mention Singapore shall we ... The ridiculous thing is that this is a decade old problem and getting worse - and the response from the current incumbents shows that the attitude that causes problems like these hasn't changed at all - if anything it's worse. The Thai Airways financial crisis at the moment has offered up a perfect opportunity to address the fundamental management issues that should have been addressed in the last decade but instead we get more of the same - worse even. The response to this from the cabal of dimwits now running the country is appalling. It's potentially one of the biggest crises facing the country as it impacts tourism deeply and yet they are like deer in the headlights mumbling on about section 44.

JOC
New flights are too dangerous, but existing flights are OK? Agree with you. Strange logic, since the planes are maintained (or not) by the same mechanics!!

Popular Post Xangsamhua
Australia, too. Australian aviation safety expert Neil Hansford said ICAO had been issuing warnings to the Thai Government since 2009. “The Thai government has been incapable of providing (the airline) with the oversight needed to operate to international safety standards,” he said. “It’s just another example of the aviation industry growing more quickly than regulators can handle in that part of the world.” http://www.couriermail.com.au/travel/travel-news/australian-watchdog-turns-up-heat-on-thai-airways-after-bans-in-other-countries/story-fnihr7xj-1227289723000
