GSB to provide soft loans for small lottery vendors

BANGKOK, 1 April 2015 (NNT) - The Government Savings Bank (GSB) is urgently considering a loan project for small government lottery vendors. 500-1,000 million baht is expected to be spent as loans with low interest rates.

GSB Director Chatchai Phayuhanawichai said the bank was considering criteria and a process for providing loans for government lottery vendors. The bank would focus on lending small vendors and those with disabilities up to 200,000 baht per person. The loan project was the policy of Director-General of the Customs Department Somchai Sujjapongse who was president of the GSB, said the banker.

The loans would total around 500-1,000 million baht with low interest rates, the director added.

The GSB has planned other projects to assist low-income people according to the policy of the National Council for Peace and Order and the government. They are expected to start on 1 April 2015 under the combined budget of 35 billion baht.
