steve654 Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Since Thailand is under military rule, do I have to purchase emergency medical insurance from the Thai government? If so, can anyone help me with a link. If not, which insurance company will be reliable to use as we are travelling soon and want to make sure we are covered for any emergency aid if needed.

steve654 Posted April 1, 2015 Author Posted April 1, 2015 http://www.tourismthailand.org/ThailandTravelShield/ Thanks very much I mistakenly posted this in the general forum and someone replied and said this insurance was canceled, so glad it is still around.
stevenl Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Don't know if it is cancelled yes or no, but any travel insurance is fine.

lostinisaan Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 You can get a travel insurance at your bank, or any insurance companies that are convenient for you.
PacificCrossInsurance Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Pacific Cross Health Insurance offers 'Inbound to Thailand' health insurance cover for visitors to Thailand from most countries of origin. Availability is for up to 3 months' duration and ages up to 75. It can be arranged before you leave your home country or within one week of arrival in Thailand. Cover also extends to other ASEAN countries as long as Thailand is your first port of arrival. There are 5 different levels of cover available and the premium for 31 days ranges from THB 548 for the entry level which provides for 1 million baht in medical costs and up to THB 4,359 for the top level offering 7.5 million baht in cover. Mid point is THB 2,185 and that provides 4 million baht in cover. More details can be viewed or downloaded at the link Travel Insurance Downloads and you can obtain a personalised quote and contact with a native English speaking member of the Pacific Cross expat support team at the link Get A Quote - Inbound Travel. Alternatively you can obtain this cover through any Thai registered insurance broker (by law only brokers fully licensed under the Thai insurance regulations are able to represent insurance companies that are located in Thailand such as Pacific Cross). We hope this is helpful.
