Affirmation of Address

Featured Replies

Hi - I know this question has been asked many times - Many of the results from a search are old and contradict my last experience.

I require an Affirmation of Address (to register a car in my name).

A few years ago the last time I did this I attempted to get an Affirmation of Address (Proof of Address) from Immigration at Chaeng Wattana, however, I was informed that as I had not done the 90 day report (in and out too frequently) I was unable to get the Affirmation of Address (Proof of Address) document from Thai Immigration.

Thus: I had to go to the British Embassy, pay 2000+ Baht for this piece of paper.

Fast Forward to now: Again I require an Affirmation of Address - Aware that I may be unable to obtain this document from Immigration at Chaeng Wattana, I need to get the document from the British Embassy. However, the queueing procedure has changed. I now have to book a queue spot online. The first available spot is next week - Somewhat annoying when I just want to visit tomorrow and get this done quickly.

Thus my question: Has anyone obtained a proof of residence Affirmation of Address (Proof of Address) document from Thai Immigration (in Bangkok) without having done a 90 day report ?.

They will not do one at Chaeng Wattana unless you are doing 90 day reports to them. It also takes about 3 weeks to get one. They send it to you by EMS.
