double entry visa - how soon can i get the first 30 day extension

Featured Replies

i have a double entry tourist visa

issued 20th feb

1st entry 28th feb- 28 april (use before date - 21st may)

can i head down and get the 30 day extension now or do i have to wait until its closer to the 28th of april?

i know i wont get the full 30 days as i will still have to exit and re enter before the 21st may

thanks

It depends upon the immigration office you go to.

Some would do it now. Others may tell you to wait until a couple of weeks before your 60 days ends.

You will get the entire 30 days when you apply for the extension. They do not reduce it to your enter before date.

but i will still have to abide by the enter before date or risk loosing the second entry? if the give me 30 days from 28 april till 28 may dont i still have to exit and re-enter before 21st may?

You must make the second entry before the 21st of May or lose the entry.

If you wish to use the second entry provided by your visa you will be unable to use the full 30 days provided by the extension.

This is not a problem and you could , if you wanted, extend the second entry by 30 days.
