I need advise regarding my visa, I'm on extension non immig b, unfortunately due to my own negligence, I overlooked the date of extension which was last Aug 31. I plan to go to the immigation this monday to clear things out, what will I face when I reach there? and I would like to know if I have to leave the country to get new visa B since the last one ended last Aug 31? thanks

If it was a single entry visa Non-Imm B it is finished and you need to go abroad to get another one. As you leave Thailand you will be fined 500 baht per day for each and every day of your overstay.

As the doc says, its just a case of going to immigration and paying the fine. Now 500 baht a day. Be warned thoughtechnically if you are stopped by the MIB before you get to immigration you could be arrested and locked up till you are deported as you are here without a proper visa. Just be careful getting to immigration and the sooner the better. Good luck Dunc :o

IMHO You should get an Air Asia (or other budget airline) ticket out of Thailand ASAP. You will be fined 500 Baht per day of your overstay at the airport and get a stamp in your passport.

Once out of the country you are free to return without restriction.

If your original VISA is still valid, no problem, otherwise you need to visit an embassy or consulate to get a new B visa.

DO NOT attempt to make a visa run to a land border, police have been known to stop the buses and remove those on overstay in preparation for them being deported.

BTW If you visit immigration you will get the same fine as at the airport and an instruction to leave the country within a few days (3 I think).

Sure, if you are willing to take the risk:

Chances are you will be ok and wont be stopped by police. I think thats the Pattaya to Cambodia visa runners more than the Laos border. But i coulde be wrong. I'd chance it.
