Popular Post WitawatWatawit
Typically a mob of angry Thais would assault and kick a persons head in after an accident so maybe she did the smart thing?I was in an accident with a truck. The driver (his fault) and offsider and myself enjoyed a great laugh and shared jokes until the insurance people arrived. Couldn't have met two nicer guys. You have a nice, sane and rational day. Ok? And how many people were injured in that truck accident of yours? It's fairly common for mobs to form and for violence to be done if someone has been injured. It happens to Thai drivers too. "Land of smiles" maybe, but the smile is only skin deep. No, it's not "fairly common for mobs to form" and for violence. That's complete tosh, KK. Nor "typically .... etc" as Johnson said. In 23 years and hundreds of thousands of kilos in Bangkok, I saw many, many accidents, but not one single incident of violence. Not one. Ditto for my 3 years in Pattaya. My point is that her original accident (we are given no info on this) may not have been that bad, so she could have stopped, but she didn't. It seems that all the hysteria over this occurred AFTER she panicked and caused a lot of damage - that is where the rage erupted, not with the original accident (I think). Get my point?
onemorechang
She must be 51 % Thai Total Thai style driving to a T. Did she have something in the car a bit more incriminating we don't know about yet ? that could explain why she run away. ( thai style )
arrowsdawdle
Fleeing the scene of an accident? I'm assuming she's been here a long time then. Yeah, she was just embracing the Thainess of not losing face and was in need of fleeing lessons.
NanLaew
Sound like she was under the influence of some drugs cocktail, either that or that she's a deranged sort.... in this case the loony bin is beaconing to her.... Drunk, deranged or just scared of being lynched. Thais will make a hundred yard dash in 4 seconds if there is a farang down and being kicked. I've seen it. So you keep saying.

ggt
There are times when the Thai police show amazing restraint...she could have been beaten to a pulp...and no one would have said a word...she is a lucky...if not dumb blond...

As one of TV's finest I weight in with the following succinct analysis: She caught husband/BF with his hand in the Pattaya cookie jar and went bonkers There it is, case closed. Now back to Facebook. ravip
1. following a 30 minute wrecking spree which saw her damage 13 vehicles and injure 2 people. 2. Accidents happen. I am thinking the Thais caused the ensuing chaos. 3. In Africa you might be wise not to stop in case 4. that could explain why she run away. ( thai style ) 5. Yeah, she was just embracing the Thainess of not losing face and was in need of fleeing lessons. Sure, Thailand attracts the best foreigners on this planet! Once again Thailand does it! Drugged is what I was thinking, and it is certainly not beyond the pale that she might of been slipped a Micky Finn in a bar, but left before it kicked in and started driving home or to the hotel, not knowing she would be totally losing it 10 minutes later. We have many times heard about pretty western women getting drugged here, Rohipnol, Valium, Deet or the like. So, she escaped her potential attacker and fell into a different bad scene. Panic would also make sense as the drugs kick in even if she had two beers, a Micky coming on fast would explain most all of this incident. harrycallahan
It is possible she simply panicked big time and it escalated out of control. In Africa you might be wise not to stop in case of a road accident, even when it is against the law, you drive directly to your embassy and then report. When you sat it's possible she paniced, what other scenario do you imagine occurred? Maybe she heard there was a clothes sale at the mall?

Mot Dang
I watched a Thai mob kill a farang. Farang was an angry drunk and acting up, yelling at people, making a scene. The guy was being an a-hole but I don't think he deserved to have his head caved in. The police showed up, handcuffed the guy.... then and the mob attacked & police stood back. 5 or 6 Thai guys violently kicking his head and clubbing his skull with a heavy piece of wood while he was handcuffed. This happened in front of a hotel, all caught on video too. Thais are only good at fighting in mobs never on a one on one. Upset a Lady-boy and they will fight one to one. Weird isn't it ? Jim walker
This is what becomes with the Americans driving on the wrong side of the road back home. Popular Post Thakkar
I was in an accident. Partly my fault, but mostly the other guy's. Lady on motorbike with a two-year-old. Both without helmets. Barely scraped them, bike went off balance and fell. Kid and mom get scraped. We're near a housing estate. Ask the guard to look after the bike and proceed to drive mom and baby to nearest hospital (Chiangmai Ram). From the car, Mrs. T calls our insurance company (and the bike lady calls her husband) to wait for us where the bike is. Hospital treats mother and child for minor scrapes. We ask the doctor to give the child a thorough examination for any internal injuries or concussion. Takes another hour. No issues found. We pay and drive everyone back to the bike. Insurance guy and husband are waiting. Husband seems more concerned with the state of the bike than family. Granted, it was clearly a brand new bike. He didn't even come to the hospital after the wife had called him to say their kid was going through tests. Husband tried to claim exorbitant amount, finally settling on 1,000 baht as only the bike's mirror was broken and some paint scraped, with no dents anywhere on the bike. During the negotiations, he asked me if I was a programmer. I said no, I was a lawyer. (I'm neither. I'm just a ne'er do well). He wasn't satisfied. Finally remembered his son and said he's worried about possible long term damage. Now the mother, who's embarrassed and had apologized to Mrs. T for her husband's behavior, speaks up. He ignores her, but finally settles for a signed undertaking that if the kid shows any symptoms of head injury in the next 24 hours, we would pay the kid's medical bills at a hospital of our choosing. With all the above in mind, would we do the same thing again in case of an accident? Yes, because it's the right thing to do. T

And yet so many foreigners insist on living inThailand or spending lots of time there, begs the question, why ? I just cannot imagine what it is like "back 'ome" for the people who would rather risk their lives on a daily basis to live in Thailand. When you consider all the dangers and downfalls of living in the LOS posted on TVF some of the other countries must be an absolute hell on Earth.
