Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein lives on in Islamic State

SYDNEY: -- SADDAM Hussein’s legacy lives on in the senior ranks of the Islamic State, with his former top commanders leading the jihadist organisation.

The Iraqi dictator’s influence has made IS, also known as ISIS, more efficient and dangerous than would otherwise have been possible.

Ex-government officers now use their skills and knowledge of the terrain to ensure the extremist organisation operates with military precision.

While these mysterious figures control IS, high-profile foreign fighters act as its public face, distracting from these leaders by carrying out the group’s sickeningly violent acts of terror.
Those who have had contact with IS say almost all its general, emirs and princes are former Iraqi officers, the Washington Post reported.

A former IS fighter told the newspaper he took orders from Saddam’s ex-soldiers, and that even commanders in Syria had Iraqi deputies who made the real decisions.

...and polio lives on also, thanks to Islamist extremists.

Just heard a streamed feature called >Hanged (executed) music-tapes; how scientists try to resurrect Afghan music.<

That about says it all - in fact that barking madness has been going on for decades now ...

The west have a lot to answer for concerning their actions on presumed weapons of mass destriction,

They didn't exist then but the growth of ISIS is due to the seeds set by the worlds bully and its propoganda machines.

A little hint for you Piltdown.

Saddam did have weapons of mass destruction. He used them on the Iranians, The Kurds and the Marsh Arabs.

The were sold to him by the US and UK.

These were not the same WMD's that was the excuse for 91.

He had them alright. The US and UK could probably tell you exactly how much he had remaining.

@ Suradit69

Right or Wrong. Saddam crushed anyone who was a threat to his regime. That includes Islamic groups.

It was all orchestrated. Ask yourself ... How do you control a population? The answer is three elements, fear, ignorance and poverty.

The war effectively made those in the US a lot poorer; let's be honest the US is broke. The population was fed by lies with makes most ignorant to the truth. The final element is the worst of all because once a government manages to make the population as fearful as possible (terrorist attacks looming every second) the population will roll over and allow the government to enact whatever laws it likes to make them safe .... look at the Patriot Act.

Of course most will consider this BS but there is now way too much evidence out there to suggest that government is working for the people.

Xerxes, Julius Caesar, Napoleon, Stalin, Hitler, Saddam Hussein, Qaddafi, etc.are a few examples of universal megalomaniacs. The seeds of destruction are sown by the few and harvested by the many.

The west is not the sole owner of bullying and propaganda. They just seem to get more attention from certain factions whose goal is deflection and subjugation.
