angy Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 I just saw here in the law forum section this post: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/812124-real-estate-disappeared-with-my-deposit/ and I think is better to advice all Thaivisa forumers about this kind of scammers because they also put their ad in the classified here. If you don't have a safe information about the agent you are contacting is better to not rent if they ask you the two months deposit because in Thailand you have little chance to get back the deposit if is a scammer, also if they have a running shop. Take a look also on the web if you don't think this is a problem, there are many advice like this: http://www.livingthai.org/renting-in-thailand.html 1
KittenKong Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Forget "beware of scammer agents". Just think "beware of scammers" in general. They are to be found in every type of commercial activity here. Trust no one.
angy Posted April 11, 2015 Author Posted April 11, 2015 Beware of scammers is a right do it forever but maybe not all the people know that in Thailand they scam the rental deposit sometimes and is difficult to get refund by law for some reasons.
mogandave Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Forget "beware of scammer agents". Just think "beware of scammers" in general. They are to be found in every type of commercial activity here. Trust no one. "Trust everyone, but always count your change."
