Thai govt could stay longer: official

many of the decisions by H, H and G during the 30´s and 40´s were based on

fortune telling.

Psst, we're now in the 21st century.

Yes where ghosts work as security scaring off burglars and amulets protect you from all ills

The longer he stays in power the better for Thailand.

As about the TVF posters, Prime Minister

Please, "Forgive them, because they do not know what they are doing."

Greece needs it too. Too many trouble makers protesting against the good guys of the Troika.

They should all be executed, just like the Junta has said executing 150 000 Thais is a good price to stay in power.

The troublemakers in Greece are far more, few millions indeed. I think getting rid of 5 millions Greeks by shooting all them will be good for Greece.

Let's hope it will happen soon ! Countries don't need freedom and democracy, but a disciplined and rigid military system like the ones who have allowed countries like Haiti, Myanmar,Pakistan, Guinea Bissau,Zimbabwe, etc to the path of prosperity and happiness ! May Greece join the club soon !

That was a bit of a crap effort, Costas. You are just bleating. Why no mention of the gods or soothsayers? After all, Greeks your age gave us all that mythology...

I remember being asked if I wanted my fortune told. I pointed out to the woman that she would already know the answer if she was genuine...

His remark came after a fortune-teller earlier cast doubt on the time frame for the general election. crazy.gif You couldn't make this crap up.

Apart from the stupidity of what was said is anyone surprised that Prayut might not step down. He can of course continue down this path but as with Burma the west will eventually have not choice but to start placing sanctions ... this in turn will leave Thailand's economy is tatters and they'll end up like most countries run by dictators ... those at the top will be extremely rich whilst those at the bottom will starve to death ...... oh yeah a bit like it is now.

Didn't anyone really believe they weren't going to stick around in definately. Prayuth has article 44 and answers to no one. Anyone who opposes his reign can be rounded up, locked away forever or executed. He has his family heirloom which he intends to pass down to his children and god have mercy on anyone who doesn't adore and worship him.

Did the last military government stay around forever? The last time the government rushed things and allowed massive abuse of power from the next governments + a loss of more than 1 trillion Baht.

Better stay a few years longer and clean up Thailand.

You are watching a rape in progress, and you are standing on the sidelines applauding the rapist!!

You are a disgrace!!

What rape? Rape the rich and corrupt?

No government before tried to repair so many things of local mafia, corruption, abuse of power, etc etc.

Calling that a rape is an insult for all the dead one caused by the Shinawatra clan.

Spot on!!

And the irony is that Mr P himself is only being used as a pawn for the real powers and their mighty sponsors!!

In their struggle to keep status quo, anything is allowed now!! Even a few bodies!!

To the junta supporters here: Freedom is not about the right to have cold beers or to be able to watch the match on big screen!!

Executing EU troublemakers would solve the problem, too.

How can Thailand be cleaned by a one trick pony, assuming they even want to be cleaned? What do you mean by 'cleaned' anyway, more smiling avuncular figures in uniform on T.V. celebrating themselves as they deliver lectures on morality and how a Thai should think? Attempts to turn back the clock to a golden age that exists only in the imagination of the top 1 or 2% will prove futile, in my opinion.

The mighty sponsors get even uglier as time goes by, with all that in-breeding and bigger Darwinian ears' development to keep a share of hearing about what's going on.. Shame really - it just gets uglier and uglier.

Very concerning he is responding to a fortune teller who by tehir very nature are fraudelent werriodos

DEPUTY Government Spokesman Sansern Kaewkamnerd yesterday did not rule out the possibility that the Prayut administration may stick around longer than planned.

His remark came after a fortune-teller earlier cast doubt on the time frame for the general election.

They could both be right. It's quite possible that the proposed new constitution to be introduced later this year or early next year is so biased in favor of the 1% that it's flat out rejected by the majority of the population. Or 'the situation' might not have changed. What's planned and what actually occurs frequemtly turn out differently.

I remember hearing "There is nothing as permanent as a temporary solution". Look at Panmunjom on the Korean DMZ...

What is your fixation with 'execution'? You often mention it in your posts. I doubt anyone really believes that he will 'execute' people on a whim.

" Dr Jetn Siratharanon, a member of the National Legislative Assembly, said he could not comment on Warin's prophecy but in his view, the NLA would follow the road map and not the heavens. "

" Colonel Winthai Suvari, spokesman for the National Council for Peace and Order, said that Warin was just making a prediction and that the government and the NCPO insist that they are on course in traversing the road map to democracy. "

Clean up the massive corruption everywhere from lowest police to highest official.

Golden Age: See the history of Thailand and the fast development...there was a golden age.

That morality lectures: yes they are BS......but also the Shinawatra governments did it.

Apart from the fact that this may be a way of intimating that elections may be delayed, or reinforcing the message that political incitement will cause postponement of elections ----- IMO this is merely a little tit-bit which is making 'breaking' news. Everyone is getting riled up.

This will likely be a point of contention, no doubt, for future posting by certain TV members, it will all be forgotten in a day or so, and will not be referred to again by the government as an excuse for delays in the election date. wink.png

Alternatively they must change the fortune teller....
