learn thai cooking with a private teacher

Featured Replies

Hi there smile.png

I don't know many things about cooking (almost 0 to be honest ) but I would like to learn how to cook some thai dishs before come back to France.

I have already been to a thai school (http://www.asiascenic.com) but I don't like at all the way they teach. Basically in this kind of shcool , there is one teacher for 10 people and if you don't already have some knowledge about cooking, you will not be able to cook thai food back to home..

So I guess I would be happy to have a private teacher or soemthing like that. Do you have any idea how I could learn thai cooking in a effective way ? I don't want to be a head chef but I would like to be able to cook some delicious meal smile.png

There are homestays where I am certain the grandma would teach you her recipes. To be honest most Thai cooking schools use crappy western modified recipes. I saw one cookbook from the biggest brand name school in CM, that actually had canned chicken broth as an ingredient to make tom yum. Many of the recipes also listed salt instead of fish sauce.

Find an old grandma that cooks well and help her in the kitchen.

A French man that doesn't know anything about cooking, you really should feel ashamed. LOL.
