I arrived in Thailand on a tourist visa, which I converted to a non O for retirement. I thought that my first 90 day report would be due soon, 90 days after arriving in the country, but I have been told that the conversion counts as reporting , and the extension next month also will. If correct that means my first actual 90 day report will be 3 months into the extension, or about 7 months after arriving in the country, which does not sound right to me ? I know that 2 years ago when here on an ED visa the first extension counted as a report but that was only 3 months.

The guy who told me seems to know what he is talking about, but it seems a bit strange to me that I do not have to do a 90 day report until I have been here about 7 months !

Anybody here been through this situation ?

The conversion was the first reset of the 90 days since you got a new entry.

When you apply for the extension will be the next one and your first report will be due 90 days from that date.

I will be doing same thing you changed your visa from VOA to non O then apply for extension after your 90 non O close to end at which time once approved you start your 90 day reporting for your extension based on retirement.

Just to add, that Sakon Nakhon Immigration office makes you do a 90 day report on the day you do the conversion, strange, but it is their train set. :-)
