April 18, 201511 yr I'll be in Thailand for a month in the summer with my child who will be 15 months. I'll be staying in Bangkok for a bit and then probably travelling down the east coast to koh samet and possibly north to phitsanulok. I'm undecided about hiring a car or using taxis, public transport. I really want my child to be in a car seat and could bring one from the UK but I dont fancy driving in Thailand. Are there companies that supply taxis with infant car seats? Any other suggestions would be welcome Sent from my C5303 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app
April 19, 201511 yr Ran in to the same situation you did when the wife and I went back recently. Get an inexpensive carseat in the U.K. and bring it with you. I just left it at the in-law's house when we returned to the U.S. I'm not sure what it is, however child safety doesn't appear to be very high on most Thai's priority list. They also make different harness type restraints you simply lock in to the buckle portion of the seatbelt. They are a lot easier to use than lugging around a carseat, though they offer less protection and may not be available for a 15 month child. Edited April 19, 201511 yr by Jamie
April 20, 201511 yr Author Thanks for the reply, I've seen the harnesses you're mentioning, looks like they get pretty poor reviews for safety. Think I might just have to bite the bullet and rent a car, how bad can it be! Sent from my C5303 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app
