Hi,

I have a question regarding my visa and hopefully someone knowledgeable here can help me out.

I have a multiple entry NON-O visa.

Issue Date: 9 April 2014
Enter before: 8 April 2015
Multiple Entry NON-O

I entered Thailand on 30 March 2015 and on the immigration seal in Bangkok they stamped - ADMITTED UNTIL 22 June, 2015.

My question is, if i want to travel again (to Thailand) on 6th May, 2015, do i need another visa or my multiple entry visa allows to travel to Thailand until 22 June, 2015?

Please see the attachment FYI

Hope to hear from someone soon.

Cheers!

Your visa expired on the enter before date, 8 Apr 2015. You have valid permission to stay in Thailand up to 27 Jun 2015. If you wish to travel between now and then you would need to obtain a re-entry permit (1,000 Baht, single entry) from your immigration office or one of the Bangkok airports (1,200 Baht, single entry. includes 200 B convenience fee).

I'm not an expert, I just replied because no one else had. I'm sure one of the more knowledgeable members will be along to post soon.

Your visa is void since 9 April 2015.

If you leave the country now, the permission to stay until 22 June 2015 is also void.

Leaving 6th May, when will you come back?

How long do you want to stay after the new entry?

What is your nationality?

With answers to these questions it is possible to give "best/cheapest advice".

Re-entry permit as @skatewash describes is one option.

The other one just do nothing and get a 30 day visa exempt (or only 15 days) entry.

As said: depends on the above questions.

What good does a Re Entry Permit do Really?? Your Non Imm O is gone anyhow as per april 2015, and not good for anything any longer.

You are here on a Tourust VISA Exemtion I guess, 3 months???? You leave and come back and will have another 3 months?? But lerts wait and see what Ubonjoe will say about it...

Thanks for the replies.

Here are answers to some of the questions:

- I already left thailand on 5th april, 2015 (so currently outside thailand)

- My visa is NON-O Marriage (my wife is with me now - overseas)

- I am not from a Visa exempt or on arrival visa country

- I am planning to retun on 6th may, 2015

May be i need to apply for visa again.

Thanks!

Ahh, I didn't understand you were currently outside of Thailand. My understanding is that your permission to stay up to 27 Apr 2015 ended when you left Thailand on 5 Apr 2015 (without having a valid re-entry permit). A re-entry permit is no longer obtainable because you are outside of Thailand. So, yes, I believe you will need a new visa.

I could speculate on where you could obtain one, but I should refrain from commenting and giving you potentially inaccurate information. You are best served waiting for one of the experts (Ubon Joe, Mario, any of the global moderators) to respond. Best wishes.

Edit: It would be helpful for the experts if you would say which country's passport you have, since the rules are different for different nationalities. The more accurate the information provided the better the advice will be. Good luck!

Thanks for your input. But when you mention i should have gotten a re-entry permit

- do i need re-entry permit if i have a multiple entry visa already?

- do I need re-entry permit everytime i go out of thailand?

- Seems like its better to obtain a NON-B instead of NON-O ?

You are outside Thailand, you have a Non Imm O (M).VISA that has gone unvalid since april... It didnt matter to buy a re entry permit if you do not enter Thailand again before your VISA expires. Which you didnt do!!!

So it is up to you to buy a new VISA outside Thailand... If you need any advice about kind of VISA, than I suggest you answer a couple of KbenQ earlier questions....

You can either obtain another non-O visa in the country where you are at the present time, or return here on 6 May on a standard 30-day visa exemption (to which citizens of your country are, I assume, entitled) and then obtain a fresh non-O based on marriage from the Royal Thai Consulate at Savannakhet in PDR Laos (dealt with in many threads on here).

The "Enter before" date in your now-expired visa and latest "Admitted until" date stamped in your passport are 2 quite separate things. The former is the latest date by which you could have used your visa to gain entry into Thailand. Had you re-entered Thailand on 8 April, for example, your passport would then have been stamped for a further 90 days (until 6 July by my reckoning).

Just repeating: no you don't need a re-entry permit as long as you have a valid multiple entry visa.

But your visa is expired/null/void since 9 April (the day after "ENTER BEFORE").

Its history!

A re-entry would just ensure entry on the same condition that you now have:

permission to stay ("ADMITTED UNTIL") 22 June 2015.

(the stamp on the lower right is THE only relevant thing to look at now)

Would mean: get a re-entry and enter on some arbitrary date before 22 June 2015 and get another ADMITTED UNTIL 22 June.

Up to you (answering the q.) to decide whether it is worth.

If you want to manage another year: get a new visa.

This is a little above my pay grade, but maybe I can entertain you with my thoughts before you get the real answer to your question.smile.png

Yes, you had a multiple-entry visa but it had a validity period, from when it was issued 9 Apr 2014 until its enter before date 8 Apr 2015 (so a one year validity period). You left Thailand on 5 Apr 2015 and had you returned to Thailand by 8 Apr 2015 (the enter before date) you would have received 90 days permission to stay starting from your entry date. You would not have needed a re-entry permit to do this.

Instead, since you did not return by 8 Apr 2015 (the enter before date) your visa has lapsed, is no longer valid/usable. And since you left Thailand without obtaining a re-entry permit, your ability to use your approval to stay until 22 Jun 2015 is no longer operable. You effectively canceled it by leaving Thailand on 5 Apr 2015 without having a re-entry permit.

So, no you do not need a re-entry permit every time you leave Thailand, you only need one if you no longer have a valid visa. From 9 Apr 2014 through 8 Apr 2015 you could come and go in Thailand without needing a re-entry permit (because you had a valid visa). I do believe though if you had obtained a re-entry permit before you left Thailand on 5 Apr 2015 you could have re-entered Thailand on 6 May 2015 and stayed up until the 22 Jun 2015 date. That is, the re-entry permit would have allowed you to preserve your permission to stay date until 22 Jun 2015.

On the positive side, you did get more than a year of permission to stay in Thailand with your visa, so looked at in that way not a bad deal.

I could be wrong with what I've written above. If so, then my understanding needs to be adjusted/corrected. But that's the way I understand it at the moment.

You need to get another visa of some kind. You may be able to get another multiple entry non-o visa dependent upon where you apply.

You should at the least be able to get a single entry non-o.

Do you have your marriage certificate with you?

Thanks everyone for their input. I am going to apply for another 1 year multiple entry NON-O tomorrow just to be on the safe side.

Learned a few things today, thanks guys.

@Lite Beer

I got my multiple entry 1 year NON-O last year from the same location, my wife stays with me here and i have all the marriage related documents, so i hope they will still issue a multiple entry 1 year this time.
