PATTAYA: -- A woman aged in her mid-thirties died in the early hours of Wednesday after she fell head-first onto the road from a Mango Tree she was in the process of harvesting.

The incident occurred in Soi Maprachan 2 in the Eastern outskirts of Pattaya, just before 2am. The dead woman was accompanied by her friend, Khun Wipaporn aged 25 who told Police that she was asked to come along to help her friend to pick Mango’s from trees in the area, which would then be sold to local markets.

Panicking when the police truck drives past at 2am?

Sounds more like stealing than "harvesting".

Mrs says they were out nicking Mango's from trees growing in Temple grounds.........Karma !

Stealing or not, it's still a tragedy such a young woman lost her life so senselessly.

perhaps you mean recklessly

it seems 2a.m. is the right time to steal..sorry harvest this fruit...so as not to disturb anyone..

Scrumping!! Advice given to me many years ago'Don't climb mango trees'. The branches are not very strong.

who picks mangos at 2am? more like stealing to me. RIP lady.

My friend broke her write when she tried to harvest mango from her own tree, mango fell from the tree and hit her wrist.

C'mon now, a woman died, that's the ultimate bad outcome. Give her a break, maybe she wasn't stealing them. And even if she was, then death is not punishment. It's the end of her life. What about the kids she left? And Mum? They will be heart brioken. Don't joke about it guys. R.I.P.

I'm sure in some Western countries, the owner of the tree could be sued for not ensuring the safety of thieves while stealing.

Sad. She should have just found a falang husband to take care. None of this would have happened. No sense in working dangerous jobs if you are a reasonable looking lady in Pattaya. My wife gets about 20,000 baht a month from yours truly and doesn't need to work at all.

RIP young lady.

Those look like fair sized Mangoes in the news article.

I love a Big Mango. smile.png

I feel terrible for this poor woman. All she wanted was a days wage.

I hope you are in a better place now my fine young lady.
