battersea
Can my son leave Thailand on a UK passport ? Does he have to have a Thai passport or just his Thai birth certificate to show his Thai nationality ? He is 2 years old .
7by7
He can leave Thailand on his British passport and children under 14 are not subject to overstay fines; but it may be a good idea to have his birth certificate to hand to explain the lack of an entry stamp in his passport. But the best course of action would be to get him a Thai passport as well. He then leaves/enters Thailand using his Thai passport and enters/leaves the UK using his British one. That way he will not be subject to any immigration requirements for either country. Both Thailand and the UK allow dual nationality, so he will have no problems doing this. For other countries he uses whichever passport is the most advantageous.
