Good Time Needed . . . .

Featured Replies

Well thank the Lordy I've finally arrived in BKK - seemed like a life-time of yakking onto Nat about big-pantz and other 'nasty' :D:o thangs on this forum!! Glad I can now have the peasure of experiencing the whole 'thang' for myself! And it has indeed been a pleasure thus far!

ANYWAY . . . . .like I said - not quite up to date on the spelling thing - but really long to visit Kho Pang Yhang . . . .was wondering if there were any farang 'girlz' on this forum who stay there - or who know the place. Would realy like an insight into life there - the local culture etc. I myself am not necessarily into the whole 'party/drinking' thang :D . . .prefer to experience a country in the 'real' sense of the world :D - and what better way than to chat to the people who know. Any advice appreciated!!

Imp :D

Hey imp, finally welcome to bangers - having a good time? :o:D

As I understand sbk lives there so she's the expert on the place. I spent some time there about 3 years ago (being an international woman and all :D ) but really couldn't offer much in regards to the culture on the island - most of my time was spent relaxing (with a drink in my hand :D ). Like I said sbk is the woman to speak to. Hope you have a great time while you're here :D

Hope you have a great time while you're here :D

I know one Nat who lives on that island - r u the one by chance? :o

P.S: I love Sushi . . .any one recommend any good bars??

Hey impy, no sushi on koh phangan, unless you are a do-it-yourselfer! :o

When were you thinking of heading down? the infamous Full Moon party is on the 4th of April so you should be thinking of being here a few days before, to make sure you get a room or coming after. but then you've got to watch out for the notorious song kran transportation nightmare! Koh Phangan culture is there, just not in Hadrin! Mainly it is just laid back, sitting on the beach, watching the sunsets and fanning yourself in the heat. OK, not as hot as bangkok but still bloody hot!

Hadrin is packed full of Israelis and gap-year brits chugging as many buckets (vodka, coke and red bull in an ice bucket) as they can. Had Yao is pretty built up, went there today for the first time in 2 years (ok, its not that far but I live on the beach, whats the point of going to another beach?) and was quite shocked by the building. Thong Nai Pan is a beautiful beach but a bad road. Had Yuan and Had Tien up from Had Rin are also beautiful beaches but only accessible by boat and very quiet. Lots of Yoga/ chakra healing etc going on on Had Tien as the well-known Sanctuary Resort is there. Mae Haad is nice, but lots of families. Ban Tai/Ban Kai is not the greatest beach (the dry season is here which means the tide is quite low for most of the day) but is on the most easily accessible road, about 15 minutes either way to hadrin or the port town of Thong Sala.

PM me if you need any more info.

Hope you have a great time while you're here  :D

Sorry aaaaaa different Nat :D

Imp there's a great sushi place in silom, reckon you'd luv the futomaki :D . However if you hook up with an aussie bloke I can take you to the best Japanese restaurant in Melbourne :D

Nat, whats the name? What kind of prices do they have? my husband loves sushi and absolutely pigs out on it every time we go to bangkok so we need something good but reasonably priced. He is a hearty eater! :o

Impy....

Hi there and welcome to BKK

I am a farang chick living here (but relatively new on the scene - 10 months). If you want to catch up for a drink and to check out some hot spots around Bangkok then give me a bell at my email: [email protected]

Sorry i'm a bit of a computer pleb and don't know how to respond to you personally.

Cheers

Belinda

Computer Pleb :o Love the description :D

try osishi when in Bangers. All the sushi sashimi and other japanese goodies (plus a huge smorgasboard) for 500 odd baht at dinner, 400 (I think) between 12 and 2 and a bit cheaper between 2 and 5.

Good stuff.
