BANGKOK: -- Army commander-in-chief Gen Udomdej Sitabutra insisted Monday no Army officers were engaged in Rohinya human trafficking.

He recalled a recent transfer of an Army colonel in the South has nothing to do with human trafficking but merely to improve work efficiency.

But he vowed to punish drastically if any army personnel get involved in human trafficking.

He said the government of Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha is serious about human trafficking and is ready to take decisive action.

Gen Udomdej also explained that the 19-day time frame for authorities to resolve Rohinya human trafficking was just a n initial timeframe for all government agencies to speed up working to resolve the problem.

The problem needs cooperation from several government agencies which includes the Internal Security Operation Centre to resolve, he added.

In an area, more than less totally controlled by the army, the honorable officers didn't detect several camps with thousands of people??

Sorry general, there is no polite way to put this: You are lying!!

"He recalled a recent transfer of an Army colonel in the South has nothing to do with human trafficking but merely to improve work efficiency."

Had nothing to do with the recently transferred colonel's eyesight, did it? I'm reminded of Sgt. Shultz's lines from Hogan's Hereos... " I see nothing, I know nothing".

Pretty callous of everyone here to accuse that poor general of being untruthful. If he were guilty of something, there would be people in the picture pointing at him...

Wait. What's that lady think she is doing?

These slavery camps was found on the border with Malaysia, the same border thats used by terrorists to cross into Thailand. So either someone has not done their job in patrolling the border to prevent terrorist entering Thailand or they are teaching politicians how to tell massive lies and paint them over as white lies. How do you hide camps containing up to 800 people from foot patrols and air force choppers flying over ?

and just how does he know this?

He has had them all locked up in the barracks until this unfortunate incident which is giving Thailand a bad name blows over and they can start all over again with more efficiency this time

Google translates this as "Their up to their neck in it"

Is the time frame 10 days, now seems to be 19 days?

The PM is ready to take decisive action"", when is he going to be decisive, today, tomorrow, later, not sure. maybe some time.

Army is not involved for sure, but Thai Navy is the one removing the Refugee boat engines, and drifting on the ocean and abandoning them..

You mean like this ABC news, extract below.

"A man in hiding, who agreed to speak to the ABC, maintains that the Thai navy intercepted the boat he was on and then facilitated a handover to a broker.

They said why don't you give us money, we bought you, why did you try to escape?

Rohingya refugee

"The navy asked if we had food to eat and where we were from," he said. "They said don't tell anyone the Thai navy has seen you."

He says the navy directed the boat to land at Ranong on the Thai coast where it was met by a human trafficker who 'bought' the human cargo".
