July 16, 201510 yr Marky, I can assure you that was not the way in Scotland about twelve years ago, they always asked '"sit in or take away", and not so they can wrap your meal up the way they do in Thailand.
July 16, 201510 yr Perhaps someone bought bottle service then Cheap Charlies need to move.. The OP is not an Indian is he? Are these practices based on nationality? The Indians are known for ordering one drink to share between two or three people.
July 16, 201510 yr Can you speak in English! In Australia, u sit down and it's your spot unless you leave and someone can take it! But this aint Australia. 555
July 16, 201510 yr Can you speak in English! In Australia, u sit down and it's your spot unless you leave and someone can take it! Here in Thailand (and also in many other countries I've been in), if someone pays extra to buy a bottle then they have what is called 'bottle service', they get a table and some staff members to stand nearby ready to refill their glasses. If you are not buying bottles then you can only sit *if* no-one has reserved the table by buying bottle service.
July 16, 201510 yr one observation i have made is the difference in manners between discos in sukumwit nana and rca-thonglor. aat nana you tend to get hounded to buy more drinks even if not at a table standing on the floor. they inspect your drink with flashlights. even girls that hang out at the entrabce near the cashier pretend to be helpful and tell you 250, take your money, then try to keep a tip from your change. this has never happened at rca or predominantly thai places at thonglor-ekkamai. another positive i must credit to thais is the smoke free environment at many-most local places per above. those venues fill up often standing room only without smoking.
July 16, 201510 yr Next time this happens, take out your phone and video it. See how you go then. And likely watch your phone bounce off the floor as you bounce off the wall...
July 17, 201510 yr Can you speak in English! In Australia, u sit down and it's your spot unless you leave and someone can take it! Yes..but the nightclubs are much more to your liking..here in Thailand. I doubt you will change any rules..but it sure is nice to shake off that culture shock. July 19, 201510 yr Can you speak in English! In Australia, u sit down and it's your spot unless you leave and someone can take it! overhere you have to spend money and tip
July 19, 201510 yr If the OP would run aan own pub or disco he could understand the policy of that club. A beer or a coke you can drink even you are standing anywhere..... but if you come with friends and wanna open a bottle of Whisky and Champagne then you need and expect a table and a place chair where you can sit. I had my own discotheque a few years ago and I had the same problem. Some customers come to drink only 1 beer all night but they blocked my chairs and tables while other customers who came to celebrate with friend, buying whisky bottles, ordering food etc cannot find a table. I also asked those guys to move, coz it was my business to make money! Is that so hard to understand? Which is probably why you don't have a disco any more. If i was sitting down and having a drink anywhere and some grubby mean spirited owner asked me to move i would just walk out and never go back. and everybody would be happy

If your attitude is that you are in business just to make money your customers won't be coming back. no, cheap charly won't be back, the spenders will
July 19, 201510 yr we where there last week on the table no one asked us to move but we order 2 bottles of whisky may be that why ,,,,, They probably did ask you to move, but you couldn't hear them because the music is so <deleted> loud in there. Edited July 19, 201510 yr by NamKangMan
