I found this list online and would like some clarification for my specific situation. I am currently married to a Thai woman. I am American.

Would I still need the "Affirmation of freedom to marry" from the Embassy if I am already married? That makes no sense.

Would I need a income affidavit if I have 400000 + in a Thai account already? I think not.

How many pictures do I need with the family and how are they displayed? On a white sheet of paper? In photo album? Can this be digital?

1. Application Form (T.M. 7)
2. A copy of your passport
3. Financial proof such as:
3.1 Tax Certificate Por.Ngor.Dor.1, Por.Ngor.Dor.91
3.2 The applicant’s 2×2 inches photo.
3.3 Income affidavit from the embassy if using 40,000 THB proof of monthly income
3.4 Bank Statement together with a certified letter from the bank if using 400,000 THB money as a financial proof.
4. Copy of Marriage Certificate.
5. Affirmation of freedom to marry
6. Copy of House Registration. (Thai National Spouse)
7. Copy of I.D. (Thai National Spouse)
8. Copy of Birth Certificate (If there is any children)
9. Proof of address
10. Signed map of address
11. photos of the house with the applicant and wife in all rooms of the house and some photos takes outside the front door showing the house/flat number

Assuming that you are asking about a 12 month extension of stay and not a Visa.

If using money in the bank you need a letter from the bank and the bank book updated.

Some Immigration offices do ask for the affirmation to marry.

Take a hand full of photos and they will pick out the ones they want and staple them to a sheet of paper.

If married abroad to a Thai you do not need an affirmation letter, but you do need an afidavid from the US embassy that your are married, have it translated into Thai, have both documents certified by the Thai foreign ministry and have the marriage officially recorded into the Thai marriage register. (Of this you recieve a khor rhor 22 form, which immigraiton wants to see).

A few offices ask for the affirmation for the first extension.

The 400k baht will need to be in an account in your name only2 months on the date you apply. No need for proof of income.

The number of pictures needed varies by office. They can be digital photos. I print mine on A4 paper. Unless you know what your office wants it would be best to have a selection of 4' X 6" photos printed on photo paper.

Unless applying at Bangkok immigration you will need 2 completed TM7 forms with a set of supporting documents and etc attached to each one.

You will also need an up to date Kor Ror 2 marriage registry.

Some offices also want a witness or 2 to confirm you are living together instead of doing a home visit.

UbonJoe is the man to ask about all this but if you get your extension of stay from Savannakhet in Laos you don't 3/4 of the crap you listed above. Basically only need your missus housebook and ID copies of your marriage certificate your ID and a couple of passport photos they will do all the paperwork for you across the road from the consulate.

No matter how much "cr*p" is or is not taken to "Savannakhet in Laos" no "Extension of Stay" will be available there to anyone !

Extensions of stay are available exclusively from Thai Immigation Officers, working in Thai immigration offices in Thailand, to those who qualify and apply smile.png

You get a multiple entry non-o visa in Savannakhet that requires leaving the country every 90 days not an extension of stay. An extension of stay allows you to stay in the country without ever leaving if you don't want to.
