Russian Woman drowns on Jomtien Beach

PATTAYA: -- Late on Wednesday Night, a 76 year old Russian Woman drowned in waters off Jomtien Beach.

The body of Mrs. Nina Barova was first spotted floating face-down in the water by Khun Chit aged 23, who was sitting on the sea-wall. He shouted out and seconds later, two foreign tourists, known to be Father and Son, rushed into the water and recovered the body of the woman but it was too late as she had already passed-away.

Police and medics rushed to the scene, opposite the entrance to Soi 1, and were told the woman had been recovered from the swimming zone and appeared to have gone to the beach alone.

As Thursday May 21 has only just dawned here in SEA, I'm guessing that should be 'late Wednesday afternoon' - that or Jomtien enjoys some particularly good light at 3am. Also very doubtful that a 76-year old Russian woman would go swimming (my assumption) late at night - inevitably someone will tell us it was clearly foul play, but the photos point to a daytime drowning. RIP.

Why anyone would want to swim in that brown swamp looking water is beyond me.

Maybe you should get the water you shower in annualized... gigglem.gif
