Recycling factory on fire

Chonburi:-- A huge fire broke out Wednesday night at a plastic recycling factory in Chonburi causing damage to the factory building and living quarters of workers.

The factory which is located in Tambon Mueng of Muang district belongs to Interchol Recycle Co Ltd.

The fire started at 9.30 pm and quickly raced to adjacent living quartets of workers because of the inflammable materials stocked in the building.

About 30 fire engines arrived and spent more than two hours combatting the fire.

But firefighters said they faced difficulties to go closer as there were sporadic explosions during the fire.

One firefighter was injured and was immediately admitted to Burapha university hospital.

Cause of the fire was under investigation by police.
