Thaksin worried his sister won’t get fair trial

I can see his concerns...

His sister is put on trial for shady motives while Suthep who clearly sabotaged previous elections is not in the Jail..

Interesting, you seem to suggest that when something is so clear no trial is needed. Doesn't that mean that Ms. Yingluck with her 700 billion Baht losing self-financing scheme and televised statement in parliament to be in charge should already be in jail as well?

The Thai Judicial system is broken beyond repair it needs to be torn down and rebuilt from the ground up. Its hurting the population and the country's economic growth. No one in the world trusts it to do its job fairly.

Pray tell me who these "no one in the World" are apart from you ? Furthermore could you elaborate on the 'hurting population and countries economical growth'? It almost seems you are in favour of the 'self-financing' RPPS which lost 700 billion Baht, but which according to Ms. Yingluck reached the 'right' people.

The "Puppeteer"is a self-centred, arrogant P****, why does he still have a Diplomatic passport & why does media interview a convicted fugitive??

Almost rhetorical questions, as don't get answers!!

Forget Thaksin Thailand !! ....... move on ...

Yeah forget the thousands murdered in his war on drugs.

Forget his attempts to buy off judges.

Forget the violence he allegedly funded when Bangkok was occupied.

Forget his culpability in the disaster that was the rice scheme, the attempts he made to subvert democratic procedures to get his amnesty, his refusal to cease his flight from justice and serve his gaol time.

Too many times have the criminal actions of leaders from the past been forgotten or swept under the carpet.

The result is the corrupt, greedy, criminally self serving politicians who know they can do as they will with very little chance of facing the consequences

Forget the nice airport.

Forget the 30 baht per visit medical program.

Forget the one village, one product program.

Forget the farmer's low-interest agricultural loans.

Forget Government Lottery for education.

Forget reducing poverty from 21.3% to 11.3%.

Forget partially privatizing MCOT and increasing freedom of speech.

Forget the low interest rate Student Loan Fund (SLF).

Forget the economic recovery from the 1997 Asian financial crisis.

Forget balancing the national budget and producing fiscal surpluses for 2003 to 2005.

Forget wholesale power pool competition in the energy markets.

Forget doubling foreign exchange reserves.

Forget the crackdown on mafia crime.

Did Thaksin "worry" when the Isaan farmers were not getting parid from his sister's rice scheme?

yes

True, true.

When the BAAC told the Yingluck Administration a few times in September/November 2013 that the government needed to find additional reservations for the RPPS as soon as possible, Thaksin was worried. His (sisters) government was going through the last modifications of his amnesty law. Nail biting time of course rolleyes.gif

I'm not forgetting anything. I'm stating that he deserves to go to gaol for his crimes. I'm sure that Peter Sutcliffe was nice to his mum. Doesn't mean he shouldn't be punished for his crimes.

The charges never should have been filed. How can it now become fair? Dismiss the charges.

Start fresh. Whatever back room deal needs to be made . . . make it and get on with it.

Disagree.

There are too many back room deals and amnesties already in Thai political history.

What is needed is open and fair trials based on evidence.

If she or any other politician is found not guilty, fine.

However, there has to be a trial if there is a case to answer, if there is to be any progress.

Good to see the Thaksin obsessed in good voice. Without question, Yingluck will not get a fair trial and whilst you continue with your mindless admiration of General P, the rest if us can see the sham it is.

Speak for yourself...I don't agree with your red slanted view and I would suggest that you read more of the comments on this forum and you may realise that "red" supporters are in a minority. Time to trade in your drum as comments that you are making are pretty tiresome.

Thaksin worried his sister won’t get fair trial

He wasnt so worried when he forced her into that situation.......

Yingluck told the commander she was tired of the political tension and asked for his recommendation. Prayuth declined to offer suggestions and said it was her call to make any decision. If anything untoward happened, it would be the prime minister's responsibility.......Yingluck later called a meeting with Pheu Thai Party executives and talked via Skype with Thaksin, who said the Constitution did not allow her to resign, according to the sources. If she did resign, the protesters would ask the court to rule that she had violated the Penal Code's Article 157, which punishes officials who abandon their duty. She would face a jail term, he warned.

Amazing Thailand, where to some political achievements are more notable than crimes committed. The problem is for all his successes he can get praise, glory and adulation. For his crimes he gets prison time or life on the run. Same as in most places.

That is life.
The judges are afraid now to accept filled cake boxes.
The rules have changed a bit.
The taxpayers ask now more and more actually: Where's the money?
Is that unfair?

The government funds belongs to the people, and the politicians and civil servants must learn to report thereon.
So ask the people responsible for the whereabouts of the money has nothing to do with unfairness.
Hopefully, they also question the little accountants who reported the irregularities very early.
Thereafter, they were indeed made quickly silenced.
Hopefully they also track the Nattawut rice transports.
Hopefully the Thai population does not give up, to ask about the whereabouts of the money.
And I still want to know who has so easily issued 500 million baht cash checks in the government / administration.
An neutral asset verification of all those involved should be made as quickly as possible.
Let's see how much money can be recovered.
For the state, for the people,

Pray tell, what's wrong with the charges? "negligence" with regards to a self-financing RPPS which lost 700 billion Baht. Mind you, like me you might think a more correct charge would have been "criminally defrauding the Nation".

When considering that the total moneys "lost" through the rice scam, divided by the amount of eligible participating farmers, comes to an amount lost per farmer greater than the cost of a brand new Ferrari, well, you can't help smell a rat really! I wonder how popular Thaksin would be if he had used taxpayers money to buy every poor(but not very poor as the very poor were not eligible to join the scam) farmer a brand new Ferrari? And to think some forumers claim that no money is missing and all charges should be dropped.

Yaowapa's role in the whole scam should be uncovered shortly. Was it not accepted that Yaowapa was the onshore architect of the scam and had inserted her sock puppets to be the scam's leaders. Boonsong Teriyapirom in particular who was elevated to commerce minister to do her bidding.

It appears that many of the posters here are simply trying to ingratiate themselves with the current flavor of the month. Many aware individuals know as a fact that if an accused is tried by a jury of their peers, justice would stand a good chance of prevailing. The case in point here and the trial to follow, appear to be a mere formality. Sad ...

Sigh! Words fails me!

Me too. Maybe some are hoping the "Amnesty Bill" will be resurrected and they all get to pass go, collect 200 and not go to gaol.
