I just read the article about the minister assuring visitors about safety while in Thailand. Anybody have any idea what this visa that she mentioned would be like? Just a general tourist type in and out visa? Is it geared towards a business person?

"The government is working on a multiple-entry visa that will likely be valid for six to 12 months. It is expected to go into effect in December"

Thailand already has well known multiple-entry visas for business, retirement and 'other' (usually used for marriage).

Sounds like the same one that was mentioned earlier this year that was going to done before Chinese new year but never happened.

No details about it was given before.

Can someone explain to me, why do they keep announcing it, if nothing is actually happening?
