30 day entry stamp extension

Featured Replies

Do I have to go to Chang Wattana to extend my 30 day on arrival stamp or will my local immigration be able/know how to do it?

Thanks in advance ???

You can apply for a 30 day extension of your visa exempt entry at any immigration office as long as you have a local address to put on the application form.

Cool. Thank you very much.

It finishes on the 1st, which is a holiday. I'll still be able to extend with overstay right?

If you apply on Tuesday the 2nd you will not pay an overstay fine since immigration was closed on the date your permit to stay ended.

You don't have to wait for the last day to apply for the extension. You can do it a couple of weeks early and loose nothing because the extension starts from when your permit to stay ends.

Surly the 'permitted to stay' date is written in stone? Airports and border crossings don't have holidays!

It is certainly not flexible and I did write anything saying it was.

But if you are applying for an extension (not leaving the country) at an immigration office they will not charge for an overstay if you go on the first day they are open if your permit to stay date falls on a weekend or holiday when they are closed.

Interesting, but I don't think I'd want to try my luck at Phuket immigration office! wai2.gif

I suspect if you were to a search on the forum you would find out that Phuket immigration has the same rule as all others do.

They probably have - but each officer has his own interpretation, depending on mood and financial status. LOL

True..the man at nakhon p immigration charged me last time when my last day was a Sunday.

Maybe with prayuts new crackdown on corruption these wonkers can be reported.

Thanks for the heads up. ???

I read in another post (http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/744440-longer-visa-exemption-extensions-begin-august-29-2014/) that you need a printout of your hotel booking as well as proof of your departure flight.

Is this still true? I don't plan to book and flights or hotels until I'm sure I can get the extension.

Also, is the only immigration office in Bangkok the Chang Wattana one? I'm staying in Asoke.

Thanks in advance.

You do not need hotel print or plane ticket out.

If in BKK, CW-road is the only office you can apply.

Tickets and hotel reservation are not needed. That topic was done before the actual requirements came out.

Chaeng Wattana is the only office you can use.
