CHIANG MAI — Police are looking for a man who has posted a series of nude photos of himself standing next to road signs in the northern province of Chiang Mai on Facebook.

Pol.Maj.Gen. Pacha Rattapan, deputy commander of Fifth Region Police, said the Thai man, whose identity is still unknown, has greatly damaged the reputation of Chiang Mai city with his widely-shared photos.

He said police are studying CCTV footage to identify the suspect, and officers have been dispatched to the locations seen in the photos to look for any evidence that could lead to the man. Pol.Maj.Gen.

Pacha said he will be charged with the Computer Crime Act, a draconian law that bans dissemination of inappropriate or obscene material online.

The officer described the suspect as a "teenager," though in Thailand the term is also loosely used to describe individuals up to age 25.

I do hope the full force of the law is used to hunt this man down------- The punishment, well I am quite happy to leave it to the "Hang them High" Thai Visa group to decide on that.........................coffee1.gif

Yes, yes, the reputation damage...

Arsonists in the province damage the health of the people, the wildlife and hurt business for months every year. But damage to the 'reputation' is much more serious.

I'm continuouly entertained by the Thai reputation scale...

"he greatly damaged the reputation of Chiang Mai city"

I wonder if he had gotten away with just "damaging" if he had left his hat on !

"The officer described the suspect as a "teenager," though in Thailand the term is also loosely used to describe individuals up to age 25."

Correction; Thais are giddy teenagers until around the age of 30, then they just get old and tired, adulthood never enters the equation.

Good to see that the Chiang Mai Police are busy with this very serious crime as opposed to chasing other petty criminals such as robbers, murderers, drug dealers and the like...

As a side note it was recently reported that a certain Thai organ used for procreation is the smallest in the world just after Indians....

Careful chaps we can't be seen to be defaming the esteemed RTP.

One thing I have learned having lived in Thailand for a while now is that small matters have big importance.

Wee Willy is at large and dangerous so it is absolutely essential that he is caught in order to save the planet.

Naked signs must be eradicated!!
