12th International Travel Meetup - June 7th

Featured Replies

I've gone to a few of these and they are great fun. Between 30 and 80 people show up. A great mix of nationalities. The best part of the event is chatting with fellow travelers before and after the presentations. If you are in town, come on by! It's free.

We will have our meeting on June 7, Sunday at 7 pm

The location is very convenient. Go to BTS Asok (exit #2), and it is only a couple of minutes walk. Members have stayed later than 11 pm socializing after the presentation. And if you need to come late, that is no problem too!

There is no charge for this event, FREE! And there will be drinks offered with special discounts. You can also order food with a 10% discount, just reference the travel meet up before you get your bill. Speak to the staff and ask for a wrist band so you will be eligible for the discounts.

Our meeting will be on the 2nd floor in the big room.

I don't like their idea that you have to have a FB account to obtain more information about it.

There was another travel group organized by an older lad called ART, who worked as a journalist or so. Not sure if it still exists. haven't used meetup.com since many years....

You don't need a FB account to obtain more info. You do need to sign up with meetup.com. After you do that, join the event and the directions will be sent out.

I am aware of that other travel group. I think it was really oriented towards Bangkok folk and did trips in and around town?

It is a fun time if you can make it....
