Evidence suggests I have rats in my attic. Droppings every morning at the same place. Our pool guy isn't too keen on having a go at them with his mates( and they are generally pretty willing in other ways).

Does anyone have any contacts who will get them out, for a fee of course?

Unless they have a food source inside the house, they must be travelling in and out. One way to discourage that without added poison to the household environment ...

That is what I don't understand. There is no available food supply for them unless the buggers are growing it themselves. And I can't see any obvious ways in and out of the loft.

My dad used to leave small dishes of household ammonia in areas where he found rat droppings...they hate the smell and would usually avoid the area.

Glue traps are available in many places. Put a piece of fish or some peanut butter in the middle. Works like a charm for me.

+ 1, best way to catch them fast....had up to 4 on 1 board in the mornings.... ;-) MS>
