The Thai wife of my brother has a Thai daughter who wants my brother and her to put their names on the Hospital's birth registration for their forthcoming child which is due soon.

Tha means they will be pretending to be the parents. She also wants my brother and her mother to take her baby to the Uk later on , this being the main reason for her idea.

This must be illegal, surely. She says it is ok, other people have done it. To me, the whole thing stinks. I do not want my brother to end up in the Scrubs.(jail)

Can anybody help? I need to know the facts so I can present them to my brother, his wife and her daughter on a plate. Thanks for your time.

Your feelings are correct. Also there will be a problem in time when the real story gets out or the parents change their minds and suddenly want the child back or money.

Apart from it being illegal I know of an embassy that recently requested a DNA test on the baby to establish the babys relationship to the father prior to issuing a passport.

Your Brother's wife should have a pink colored baby 'log' book from the hospital, which should have the details of the babies father in it....anything contradicting this information when applying for the birth certificate at the registrars office, will be questioned.… DON’T DO IT

There is a tendancy of hearing that if someone else has done it it most be correct. Had to educate my wife on that a few times. What about just adopting the child then it would be legal.

I heard the penalty is' £5000 or 2 years jail or both' for providing false information when applying for a passport for Uk.

Thank you all for your kind advice. I have shown it to my brother and his wife and they have now flatly refused to have any part in this stupid plan.
