Hi,

I have gathered almost everything I need (I think) for my trip to Nong Khai Immigration Bureau to try and get my 90 day O Non immigration Visa changed and extended to a Retirement Visa. All I need now is the bank guarantee letter of funds in my Thai bank Account (1 day task).

I have got to this stage mostly due to the help and patience of Lopburi3 who I cannot thank enough (especially in view of this last weeks Visa clampdowns).

I have just re-read the Thai Immigration Bureau's requirements (to make sure I have all I need) and I have 1 final question. The Bureau's official website requirements say.

Application for further stay to spend the remainder of life in the Kingdom of Thailand

Required Documents

1. Immigration form 7 (Tor Mor 7)

2. Copy of passport

3. 4 cm. X 6 cm. Photograph

4. 1,900 baht application fee

5. Financial Evidence:

........1. Bank account pass-book, bank statement

........2. Evidence showing reception of pension accompanied with Thai translation certified by

............the embassy or consulate of the country paying the pension

........3. Evidence presenting other sources of income or evidence of money transferred from overseas

6. In cases of having dependents (husband / wife, children), the applicant must provide

evidence indicating their relationship. Evidence must be translated into Thai and be certified by

the embassy or consulate of the non-Thai citizens.

7. Health Certificate for those who apply for further stay after Nov. 14, 2002.

8. The officials reserve the rights to examine or ask for additional documents, if necessary

I wish to confirm please, the item highlighted in Red. I have been advised that translation into Thai (if in English) is NOT required. The UK Embassy also only write their letter in English.

Having never applied before, I am in no position to know what is acceptable, but I am sure other members DO KNOW for sure, and I would MUCH APPRECIATE confirmation that the UK Embassy Pension Details letter (and original Pension Company letter, IF required) do NOT need any Thai translations for submission of my Retirement application (both are in English).
