JAS21
Farang, Planning on buying a new car, either Chiang mai. Or Bangkok, any information will be of great help There are car showrooms in both of those provinces ... if you have no idea what you want other than an auto one option is to wait until the beginning of December and go to the car show. Do you have a budget? A small run-around will set you back 500,000 thb wheras a Merc or BMW will start from around 4,000,000 thb You haven't really given much info ... have you
technologybytes
You can get good deals on the last couple of days of the month if you can make immediate payment, many dealers have quotas to make. The dealers are quiet in Chiang Mai right now, I reckon it's a good time to be a buyer. Also some great deals on nearly new cars.
kkup
If you're buying a Ford make sure you choose a dealer who gives a $%^_ about your business and has good customer service within the store, before/after sales is notoriously bad with Ford.. I ended up buying a Isuzu even though I wanted the Ranger.

gandalf12
Decide how much you can spend on a new car, then decide from the various makes which one you want. Easy really. Buy something like a Honda, Toyota or Nissan. There are lots of outlets for these makes so you wont have a problem further down the line is you need a replacement part. Pomthai
Buy a 3.2 Mazda BT50 - pretty much what the Ford Rangers offers for less money with nicer dash (IMHO), reasonable service at the dealership and a smiley face at the front too. The 5 cylinder makes a nice noise when you give it the beanz too.

How do we know how they have been looked after...? You get a compression test done, and check all the fluids visually. Then drive it and listen for abnormal sounds, compare it with driving a new one. All car dealers fall over themselves to give potential customers a test drive. Anyone buying a new car throws 10 - 20% of what they've paid down the drain as soon as it hits the road. The Nissan Almera seems to have very rapid depreciation, perhaps someone can explain why.

JAS21
wanted to know better in BKK or CM, to purchase, know what I'm buying just wanted some info on process Thanks to all replies Ah ... now we understand better ...if you had said what vehicle you wanted someone may have recommended a particular dealer. Do you know what paperwork you need to supply to the dealer. If you are on O or OA visa or extension of one of those you will need to supply a proof of address letter from immigration or your embassy if you don't have a Yellow Book. Fab5BKK
A good start would be to have a look @ the manufacturer's web sites, then visit car dealers... ask the questions directly to the dealers (paperwork, deals, delivery times, etc.) Edited June 30, 2015 by Fab5BKK
