Tourist visa to o visa in thailand

Recommended Posts

The topic a link to was posted has a lot of info.

The most important thing to know is that it can only be done at Bangkok immigration and it takes 2 trips 15 days apart to get the visa/entry stamps.

If you do not live in or near Bangkok it might be best to go out for a single entry non-o. Vientiane or Savannakhet Laos and Penang Malaysia are good locations to get one.

With appropriate paperwork and finances a conversion to an O visa entry is possible but only in Bangkok.

The visa will provide for a stay of 90 days toward the end of which an application for an "extension of stay" based on marriage should be made.
