BANGKOK: -- The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) has received nearly 2,500 complaints against state officials in the Northeast, including a provincial governor and a judge.

The judge and governor were accused of claiming prizes from lucky draws despite not being the rightful winners during their tenure in Udon Thani province between 2006 and 2007.

"We will speedily investigate the complaints against them," NACC member Vicha Mahakun said Friday.

He added that the NACC had already set up a committee to investigate complaints about alleged wrongdoings by Udon Thani-based state officials.

"There are 41 complaints in Udon Thani," Vicha said.

Surprise surprise.

I wonder what the time frame for these complaints are.....I'll just assume daily ;)

"We will speedily investigate the complaints against them," NACC member Vicha Mahakun said Friday.' For incidents committed in 2006/7! How time flies when you're having fun.

This means nothing unless we are also told what action has been taken. Setting up a committee is a time-honoured method of NOT taking action!

would be interested to know if any of these officials are at the Immigration office in Udon Thani

It is truly amazing the Thais buy any lottery tickets or engage in any games of chance perpetrated in this country.Seems the fix is in.

Of course, unless they can get some numbers contained on Yingluck's license plates (0r her associates).

Maybe the price reduction on the lottery tickets by the main man is due to a reduction in purchases by Thais.

Most likely not.
