Nobb
To many signs in Chiang Mai. But the major sounds like he does not want to do his job. May be paid off or a scared of the Mafia or who ever is paying him. You are a poor excuse for a mayor and i would to have the PM check you bank records! You should grow a vagina because a vagina can take a pounding and you ball are to delicate!
searcher22
And what about those white highway signs pointing to condos and businesses (like Home Pro)? Will McDonald's be requesting their own highway sign too?
Chicog
In one report I read that it's not clear how much revenue the city gets from billboards.I can hazard a wild guess, somewhere around the 0 baht mark.
Sparkles
More billboards, more accidents waiting to happen. With so many distractions to drivers and riders, a few more will help to keep down the population. Do these people who put up the billboards care? In your dreams. The real question is; do the Thai people care? No....... same as they don't care about people being maimed or dying on the roads ..as long as its not a member of their family or a friend. That's right. And THAT is the real crux of the problem. The 'outside' simply isn't a consideration for them. As long as the 'inside' of their space is beautiful, they are content. It's a major cultural difference between Eastern and Western considerations. Same with noise pollution, safety, overhead wiring, and a host of others. We foreigners just have different wants, and those don't count! Absolutely no sense getting worked up about any of it. They aren't going to change simply because we'd like them to. thaibeachlovers
Don't know about you, but I don't even notice them. Like internet ads one can become accustomed to simply ignoring them. It'd be interesting to know how much they actually increase spending.
timber
I guess with all of the stickers on the windshield, some governmen, a lot of people don't see the signs.

ttthailand
Walking on the sidewalks heading towards Central Festival and you have to go left, right, duck, and jump to get around all the signs. They have even placed the city road signs at about 5 foot high or lower directly on the sidewalk. These along with business signs make it a difficult walk. Then you add in the uneven and broken up sidewalks ...... Always take the easy way, Thainess !
