Blocking Thai Visa Spam and other unwanted JUNK!

Does anyone know how to block the now almost constant JUNK that keeps popping up on this site?

It was bad enough before with the "SUBSCRIBE TO NEWSLETTER" that popped up everytime you accessed the Classifieds, even though I am subscribed ALREADY to the damn newsletter!

Now though, every single page starts turning green and asking for Facebook likes or something. Terrible!

Then today, a supposed "Newsletter" article flashes up as an e mail, about 5 year visas, it turns out it is a SPAM advert for the Elite Card!

This site is turning into a junkmail and malware site.

The Facebook and Newsletter messages should stay away once you've closed them, you'll need 3rd party cookies enabled so the site knows you've seen the ad.

If you detect any malware please forward the relevant messages to support[at]thaivisa.com

Cheers Crossy,

The Facebook garbage, for instance, if I open up multiple tabs for multiple topics, EVERY single page keeps going green as soon as you move the cursor towards the close button (Top right Win 8.1 Explorer 11)

The classified page is like a race, as soon as you click classifieds, you have to race to click on the category before that damn "Subscribe" comes up.

Surely if it uses cookies then it should be smart enough to know I am already subscribed?

And what about this Elite Card advert turning up as if it is a genuine TV News Update? Just Spam!

It really is bloody annoying, it was never like this a few years back. It is just getting worse. I am surprised no one else has mentioned how it pisses them off!

Here endeth todays gripe!

Do you have your browser, antivirus / security suite, or some other utility set to delete cookies when the browser closes?

I noticed this on my laptop the other day....clicked the close button on the banner and not had another since.

Yeah there is more than before but not crazy advertising.

Other things are irritating however....some eyebrow raising sponsors for example....

eyebrow raising sponsors??

Are we sure we're talking about sponsors. I mean, who in Pattaya doesn't need DNA Testing every now and again, to be sure.

  • 3 weeks later...

The green full page 'subscribe to newsletter" BS is driving me nuts. Almost every time I switch pages the damn thing shows up. Please remove it at once.

I thank you in advance for taking care of this immediately.

use a simple download called Disconnect. Best thing I've downloaded imo and you can see how many things get blocked, Thai visa is worse than a porn site

Installed Disconnect. Fired up the ThaiVisa front Forums page.

And now I think I need a shower, a gargle, and maybe even some shots...

In fact, I found myself visiting TV less and less, and often giving up due to slow page loads as it gets messier (and slower) and messier. Now I suspect I know why.

Then I compared it to some other sites that I would have expected to be much more intrusive. Nope. TVF by a long shot.

I can't imagine the mess can't be streamlined.

Thanks for the tip.

I get the green subscribe to the newsletter box constantly for the last week? I am already subscribed! Come on TV sort it out. I have clicked on hundreds of you adverts and sponsors links over the years. All by mistake i must add as the link/advert is placed very close to the thing you want click on. This is via touchscreen. There must be a word for it ? False clicks, accident clicks, sucker clicks.

In what context is your above screenshot?

It is one of the many random SPAM pop ups that comes us when I launch TV from the app on my IPAD. The sad thing is I went to he internet to investigate that investment company and it seems like a pretty shady one.

Does or has anyone here clicked an Add . I never have.?.gigglem.gif

Thank you of course not! Its spam pure and simple and the problem with it on an ipad is you cant turn it off like popups on a computer. Everytime I launch the app from my ipad i have to wait 5 seconds to close the junk....if im lucky its an add where I dont have to wait that long.

The adds are junk!

I downloaded it - didn't work.

When I deleted it, I found that it had split up into 4 different apps, each to be deleted separately.

(That was the free version)

I generally use Chrome on my computer (Windows 7) and never get any ads with Arabic text on the Thaivisa site. For a test, I used Firefox today for a couple of hours and also got no Arabic ads. Are you perhaps logged in with an IP from an Arabic country?
