Rescue officials were notified July 10 that the Chok Charlee 2 was in distress about a nautical mile off Bali Hai Pier. They arrived to find other speedboats picking up the panicked passengers. Passenger Somorn Sriprasert, 42 of Saraburi, said water began pouring into the back of the boat after leaving Bali Hai. Everyone managed to make it to nearby speedboats and no one was hurt. - See more at: http://www.pattayamail.com/localnews/10-rescued-from-sinking-speedboat-49245#sthash.9881y02f.dpuf -- Pattaya Mail 2015-07-24

diehard60 Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Maybe a little overloaded??????? Typical for Thailand.
atyclb Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 recently at koh lan at low tide. speedboats nearly glued to outsite border of the yellow pontoon safe enclosed swimming area. some boats anchored, some boats there with engines running and or moving. in the middle of that mess of boats a banana boat being towed at thrill speed with people on it. water too shallow to swim and to swim meant going beyond outer yellow line into the mess of boats and life threatening. that was the main big beach where many tourists go. there are other beaches but have not seen at low tide.
emilymat Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 It's beginning to sound like the Bermuda triangle out there.
