Chuwong case investigation to be completed by August
The Sunday Nation

BANGKOK: -- Police should be able to conclude the investigation into the June 26 death of construction tycoon Chuwong Saetang by early next month, Metropolitan Police commissioner Lt-General Srivara Ransibrahmanakul said yesterday.

Police expect to be able to pinpoint if Chuwong, 50, had died in a road accident, as was first believed, or was murdered, as suspected by the tycoon's family who had urged the Crime Suppress Division to investigate, he explained.

The other part of the police probe centred on the huge volume of Chuwong's shares, worth many millions of baht, transferred to two women just days before his death, he said. Police believe it was an unrelated matter.

Udomsuk police investigator Pol Colonel Polsak Chusamansiri said investigations were 90 per cent completed. Srivara said he had instructed investigators to check the car speed, the autopsy, the chronicle of events and interview some additional witnesses. In a few more days, there should be more clarity about the case, he added.

An informed source reported that police were checking security cameras at the scene and testimony from a passing-by motorcycle-rider about spotting a mysterious man at the scene, although police thought the man was just trying to aid the accident victims.

The source also said that police would summon more witnesses after they had interviewed on Friday stockbroker Uracha Wachirakun-thon, 26, and her mum whose bank account received more than Bt30 million of shares from Chuwong. Police were also checking Chuwong's signatures on share transfer documents and an audio clip, the source said.

Banyin has dropped out of sight, perhaps because he doesn't like the way this is going, so it might take a bit longer than expected.

I doubt it. The police know how they would like the investigation to conclude. Just making sure they get all their ducks in line. Whether their version is related to reality or even makes any sense is immaterial.

The two pretties will get to keep their money, well a portion of it. Some will no doubt find it's way elsewhere. The spelling in the signatures issue will be glossed over - anyone can make a mistake you know. This will be declared nothing to do with the accident.

The death will be ruled a tragic accident. Minimal damage to the driver's side of the car, failure to trace any other vehicle involved, air bags not working, low speed impact, not even a scratch or injury of any kind on the driver - all minor insignificant details. The fact the driver's first wife met a similar fate just one of those odd coincidences, that case done and dusted many years ago!

Banyin will be charges with something or other, insignificant. Will never actually get to court, few extra baht changing hands and some more favors owed.

This is the likely "justice" for a Thai billionaire with an influential connected family. And we all waffle on about justice for some murdered farangs. No chance.

Ex PTP minister involved. Same minister who was involved in a similar accident that involved the death of his ex wife. Not a scratch on him. Airbags didn't work.

No wonder they are investigating this. Not one of those statements above oozes innocence.
