The Nation

BANGKOK: -- The National Legislative Assembly will discuss the final revision to the security service bill on August 6.

The law seeks to standardise the service which is in high demand. There will be a commission, chaired by the national police chief, to regulate the industry.

Under the law, the security service operators need to obtain licenses which will last four years. Over half of their directors must be Thai nationals.

Security guards also need to obtain licenses. They must be clean of imprisonment records.

Violating the law, the companies are liable to over 1 year of imprisonment or fine of up to Bt100,000.
