Non B Visa in Singapore

Featured Replies

I am going to Singapore to apply for a NON B Visa so I can apply for a work permit when I get back to Thailand. How long does the process take in Singapore? Is it go one day and collect the next or is it a 2 day thing? Also is it pretty easy to do there or would a different country be better?

I have all my papers ready, I am just about to book flights to Singapore but don't know how many days I should stay there.

Thanks

You will not get a non-b visa in Singapore without a work permit application approval letter from the Labor Ministry unless you are teaching or working for a BOI company.

All nearby consulates and embassies have the same requirement.

Singapore is easy and efficient. I walked in the first day, filed the papers, and had the visa the very next day. But, you should always allow for two days, just in case there is some issue. Also BE VERY SURE to show up on time!!! They have very narrow time windows, and if you miss the time window, you are screwed. I almost missed it because I forgot that Singapore is one hour ahead of Thailand and I forgot to adjust my watch.

As the previous poster indicated, you need to have the proper documents and all in order. For me, it was about 40 pages of documents from the company sponsoring my application.

Singapore was so good. I was missing one document. When I was standing in line, an assistant reviewed my documents, discovered I was missing one, and assisted me in filling it out. Fabulous service there!

If you have other possibilities, choose a different place to apply for any Thai Visa.

Was for me the unfriendliest Consular section visit ever, my visit to the Thai Singapore Embassy-consular section. bah.gif
