It's a nice ride from Kan.

The border has been open, with some issues - increasing prices, general extortion, and closures for all people without a Burmese Tourist Visa for a 6 month period, before opening again - for the past 2-3 years.

It's a nice place for a weekend ride if you or a biking friend need to do a border run.

Was there about 6 weeks ago. Took longer than 10 minutes though, about 40 start to finish and I was the only person there.

Add an extra 10 bht for the colour copy of your passport.

Recommend going on the afternoon as mornings can sometimes be insanely busy with a 2 hour wait.
