Hi

i come Thailand march with Non-immigrant O (visiting my wife) visa after 90 days i went Cambodia and made another Non-immigrant O.

It finishes September. How many times i can do like that?

Was thinking to extend for 1 year but no have my home embasy in thailand so cannot show income?

So what should i do?

Cambodia again if that's posible?

Do I understand correctly?

- You had a non immigration visa for 3 months from the Thai embassy in your home country

- When that was finished you got a new non immigration visa for 3 months from the Thai embassy in Cambodia?

- Your wife is Thai

What you can do:

- You could do the same thing in Cambodia again (= 3 months again)

- As the other poster said, you can go to Savannaket and ask for a similar visa, but they will probably give you 12 months

- also you can go to your local immigration office and extend your visa with 2 months.

cost 1900 baht, no need to leave the country for that, bring wife and marriage certificate

- if things go completely wrong in Cambodia or Laos, enter Thailand without a visa, you will get 2 weeks at the border, and extend this with 2 months at your local immigration office

You can get a 1 year multiple entry visa in Savannakhet. You don't nrrd proof of funds and you don't need anyone to help you.

With that visa, if used correctly you can get almost 17 months permission to stay with four border runs and 3 60 day extensions.

How?

1. Get the visa, enter Thailand and get 90 days permission to stay.

2. Toward the end of your permission to stay go to immigration and get a 60 day extension, cost 1900 baht

3 On the last day of the extension cross the border and return , you will get 90 days permission to stay.

4 Toward the end of that permission to stay go to immigration and get a 60 day extension.

5. Cross the border and return, get 90 days permission to stay

6. Just prior to the "must enter date on the visa, cross the border and return, get 90 days permission to stay.

7. Toward the end of that permission to stay get another 60 day extension.

So you have a 1 year visa, no proof of funds required and and with 4 border runs and three extensions you get almost 17 months permission to stay. Whether or not it's cost effective would depend on where you live.

Why didn't you follow the advise given that you could get a multiple entry non-o in Savannakhet Laos with no financial proof.

Phnom Penh at all times is not a good location to get any visa. They often change their requirements. I suspect they want financial proof because you were trying to get the non-o back to back.

May I ask you a question please.

I am having some issues with an extension to my current Non O visa.

If I am denied my extension can I as a single person go to Savannakhet and receive a multiple entry Non O visa with no proof of funds?

Can I then convert this to a retirement visa providing I have the financial requirements?

Any helpful assistance is appreciated.

Savannakhet will only do a multiple non-o based upon marriage. Even getting a single entry non-o based upon being 50 or over is difficult to get.

Penang will do one but you need to show the same financial proof that is needed to get an extension.

I think you will get the 30 day extension. If not you could get the 60 day extension to visit your wife suggested earlier in this topic.

For the 30 day extension you need a completed TM7 form, copy of passport photo page, visa, entry/permit to stay stamp and TM6 departure card. The fee is 1900 baht.

1 Question please, what do you mean with "Can I as a Single person" ?

Savannakhet will only issue Multiple Entry Non -O when you are married to a Thai.

I have a Thai girlfriend but we are not married. I need to know my options if my extension is denied. Obviously Savannakhet is not an option for me.

How old are you ? If you are over 50 you could get a Single Entry Non-O, but you need to show money (not sure how much, UJ will know that) in an account. If you are younger, then you are stuck with a- Tourist Visa's or b- Non-ED visa which means going to school'.

I am over 50. I have been relying on a statutory declaration for the past 4 years. This time without any prior knowledge my local office are now demanding bank books and copies of my bank books as well as a home visitation.

Are you saying Savannakhet will issue me a Non O single entry visa as a single person? I assume I would need 800k in my account for 2 months prior to going to Savannakhet which I can do.

UJ will help you further on this one as I have no idea, but one more question (if I may) are you talking about Kap Choeng Immigration by any chance ?

I certainly am talking about Kap Choeng.

Can you not show a bank statement from your country of origin which lists withdrawals made in Thailand?

You will not get a non " O" visa unless you meet the financial requirements for an extension of stay.

I have never had an issue with my extensions so therefore need some expert information to plan my future if my extension is denied.

I would think that there will be many in a similar position to me that are dealing with Kap Choeng.

It would be best to go to Vientiane to get a single entry non-o visa for being 50 or over. They will accept your statutory declaration to get the visa.

Savannakhet makes it difficult to get one and often deny them.

Thank you very much for your assistance.

Assuming I get my single entry Non O at Vientiane with another Statutory declaration from my embassy I dread going back to Kap Choeng to apply again.
