A Russian national drowned in the ocean at tourist hotspot Otres beach in Sihanoukville, local police said yesterday afternoon.

Commune 4 police chief Luy Hang said that the victim, Konstantin Olenberg, 29, had visited Cambodia frequently, and last arrived in the Kingdom on July 22. During this stay in the country, he went to Sihanoukville and stayed in a room at the Srey Pao guesthouse, located in the commune’s Village 6.

“We picked up his body to hand over to the tourism police office to wait for his relatives or Russian Embassy officials to come pick him up and bring him back to his country,” he said.
