DLang
Does anybody have any info for a 3-5 day retreat? One mainly based on some sort of meditation, not so much Buddhist teachings etc. Never went on one before. Would rather a small, quiet one, than a big commercial type one. Thanks for any info. (name, location, price etc. would be great.)
DLang
Close enough to BKK would be best.
fang37
I suggest that you approach the head honcho at a nearby wat - obviously one that feels comfortable. Explain your preference.
Brucenkhamen
You'll probably find several options in the monastery and retreat centre thread http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/41645-a-guide-to-buddhist-monasteriesmeditation-centresstudy-groups/
rockyysdt
Close enough to BKK would be best. Why don't you pop in and participate in the Little Bang Meditation Courses held weekly? Quote: Every Monday evening we hold a freestyle meditation event. There are no rituals to observe, other than to sit quietly and practise your meditation. Some basic instructions for beginners will be given in English. 7:00 pm Meet at the Little Bangkok Meditation Center 7:20 basic meditation instructions 7:30 group meditation 8:15 finish The center is a 4 minute walk from Ekkamai BTS Station. Enter Ekkamai (Sukhumvit Soi 63). Turn left into the second soi (lane). Bourbon street restaurant is on the corner. We’re the third building on the right, in the ‘APARTMENTS‘ building. Go up to the top floor. Once you start attending you can enquire regarding any upcoming retreats which might fit into your requirements. http://www.littlebang.org/step-inside/ Edited August 5, 2015 by rockyysdt
